Keynote Speaker: Chi-Tung Cheng, MD, PhD

Biography: Chi-Tung Cheng, MD, PhD Clinical Professor, Trauma & Emergency Surgery, Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Joint-Appointed Assistant Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence, Chang Gung University
Chi-Tung Cheng is a trauma surgeon and clinical AI researcher at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital — one of the largest trauma centers in Asia. He completed his MD at Taipei Medical University and earned his PhD in Biomedical Informatics from National Yang-Ming University, followed by a visiting scholarship at the Johns Hopkins Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare (2019–2020). He holds board certifications in surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, trauma, and critical care medicine.
Over the past decade, Dr. Cheng has led the CGMH Trauma AI Lab, where his team develops deep learning systems for the automated detection of life-threatening conditions, including pelvic and rib fractures on X-rays, as well as solid organ injuries on abdominal CT scans. His overarching mission is to translate AI research into real-world clinical impact — building tools that augment physician decision-making in high-stakes emergency and critical care settings, where speed and accuracy can determine whether a patient survives. His work has been recognized with multiple National Innovation Awards (2020, 2021, 2025) and the Future Tech Award (2024). He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and was named among Stanford's World's Top 2% Scientists in 2025.
